East Jessamine improved to 2-1 on the season with a win Friday night at home against Paul Laurence Dunbar 28-21.
True to form, the Jaguars pounded the rock all night, rushing the ball 65 times for 313 yards compared to only 10 passing attempts for 39 yards.
Of those 10 attempts, quarterback Turner McHolan completed three of them, one to Dylan Moore for 21 yards and two to Jaylen Taylor for 18 yards and a score.
Moore led the way in the ground game for the Jaguars with 162 yards on 35 carries and got in the end zone for the remaining three East touchdowns. McHolan showcased his athleticism netting 124 yards on only 14 carries.
The win continues a trend of close finishes for Mike Bowlin’s team, as every game on the year has been decided by seven points.
The Jaguars travel to Paintsville next for an 8:00 matchup against the 2-1 Tigers.
