Two Nicholasville individuals arrested for burglary
Laura N. Collinsworth, 34, of 460 Clarence Drive in Nicholasville, was arrested Aug. 22 for second-degree burglary and violation of a Kentucky emergency protection order along with Marvin Lee Cartwright, 51, of 410 S. Third St. in Nicholasville, who was arrested for second-degree burglary and possession of a controlled substance, according to two citations released by the Nicholasville Police Department.
A caller reported Collinsworth and Cartwright were inside a residence on Oakwood in Nicholasville without permission, because the homeowner was recently deceased and nobody should be inside the residence.
Collinsworth and Cartwright were seen searching in the bedroom of the residence and later seen looking through the kitchen with a flashlight. When both individuals exited the residence, officers identified themselves and detained both subjects.
Collinsworth allegedly told officers she had lived on the property for five years and was only there to retrieve property. Collinsworth told officers she did not have a key for the residence but gained access by using her credit card. The address listed on her license stated 460 Clarence Drive in Nicholasville, according to the citation.
Cartwright allegedly told officers he was there to help Collinsworth retrieve her property. Upon conducting a search of Cartwright and Collinsworth, officers found Cartwright to be in possession of a metal container with a white bag of suspected cocaine inside.
Cartwright and Collinsworth were arrested and transported to the Jessamine County Detention Center.
