Gear up your engines and get ready to pull into the Show Up and Show Off car show at West Jessamine Middle School Easter weekend.
Located at 1400 Wilmore Road in Nicholasville, the event will take from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 20 -21.
The show, organized by West Middle School Resource Officer Erik Cobb and President of Wicked Ways Car Club Shannon Steenbergen, is being held to raise money for the school’s youth service center. The funds will provide needed money to assist families with transportation needs.
“We do this for our community because we love our people here,” Steenbergen said. “Nothing satisfies me more than knowing that I can help as many people in need and have the best of fun while doing this. To see the love that people have in their rides, the kids and our community, the feeling is overwhelming. I want to share all these experiences with everyone to show that you never know who needs help and we will help in any way that we possibly can.”
There is a $20 registration fee to participate in the car show. Etched Ozark tumblers will be awarded to the top fifty vehicles. Specialty prizes will be awarded for the top 12 vehicles in the category for the best of the best cars. The event planners said they are anticipating a good turnout.
“Hopefully, it will be a beautiful sunny day with a hundred or so unique and beautiful cars,” Cobb said. “If a student likes cars of all kinds then they will not want to miss this event.”
