Two Nicholasville women arrested for methamphetamine, cocaine, heroin
Callie A. Watts, 22, and Whitney B. Watts, 27, of 149 Grinder Circle, were arrested March 11 for trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine), trafficking in a controlled substance (heroin), trafficking in a controlled substance (cocaine) and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to a citation released by the Nicholasville Police Department.
Officers were dispatched to the car wash on Hendren Drive in reference to a female in a vehicle with a needle in her arm. When officers found the vehicle, the driver was attempting to flee the parking lot, according to the citation.
Officers approached the vehicle and spoke with a subject who was advised to exit the vehicle. In plain sight was a crystal substance. The driver and passengers were removed from the vehicle and a search was conducted.
Whitney Watts was allegedly in the front passenger seat. In her seat, officers found a green container with two 50 mg Tramadol inside, according to the citation.
In the rear seat was Callie Watts. In the area which she sat, a black and white purse was located containing methamphetamine, cocaine and heroin. Also found inside the purse was a black cell phone Callie said belonged to her.
At Callie’s feet, officers located a small gray lock box. Inside the lock box was a set of digital scales, a glass pipe, several clear baggies and cash. Inside a backpack on the rear floorboard, officers located syringes and cotton. In the left rear seat, officers located a light brown basket containing several glass pipes used for smoking marijuana. Callie and Whitney said the bags belonged to them because they were in the process of moving.
Callie and Whitney were arrested and transported to the Jessamine County Detention Center, according to the citation.
Nicholasville woman arrested for public intoxication
Amy L. Manges, 34, of 109 N. Glencove Road Apt. B in Nicholasville, was arrested March 12 for public intoxication (excluding alcohol), according to a citation released by the Nicholasville Police Department.
Officers received a call about Manges possibly being intoxicated at the Jessamine County Health Department and causing a disturbance. Manges was found walking on North Central Avenue talking to herself and laughing. Manges was also described as having sporadic movements and not talking coherently.
Manges allegedly told officers she had used methamphetamine, but it had been a few days since the last time she used. Manges was arrested and transported to the Jessamine County Detention Center where she was placed in leg and chair restraints, according to the citation.
Nicholasville man arrested for DUI
Antonio Gates, 40, of 14 Spring St. in Nicholasville, was arrested March 17 for speeding 26 mph over the limit, DUI and reckless driving, according to a citation released by the Nicholasville Police Department.
Radar confirmed Gates was traveling 90 mph in a 55 mph zone. As Gates was being stopped, he flashed his headlights at the car in front of him and proceeded to try and pass the other vehicle. Gates was described as unsteady on his feet, and while being arrested, he had to be assisted to the patrol car by officers.
An off-duty Lexington Police Officer flagged down the arresting officer during the stop and allegedly told the officer he had observed Gates run a red light at Edgewood and US27 at a high rate of speed.
Gates was arrested and transported to the Jessamine County Detention Center, according to the citation.
Somerset man arrested for DUI
Andrew O. Mayhew, 21, of 13375 Highway 39 in Somerset, was arrested March 15 for speeding 15 mph over the limit and DUI, according to a citation released by the Nicholasville Police Department.
Radar confirmed Mayhew was traveling 70 mph in a 55 mph zone. Mayhew was described as having blood shot and glassy eyes.
The officer asked Mayhew to step out of the vehicle and come to the rear of the car. At this time, he asked Mayhew if he has been smoking marijuana. Mayhew told officers he had smoked a whole joint on his way home from work an hour ago. A field sobriety test was performed, which Mayhew failed.
Mayhew was arrested and transported to the Jessamine County Detention Center, according to the citation.
Nicholasville man arrested for marijuana
Joe D. Angel, 42, of 104 N. Central Ave. in Nicholasville, was arrested March 15 for possession of marijuana, according to a citation released by the Nicholasville Police Department.
Angel was arrested for a warrant. Upon searching Angel, officers located a partially-smoked marijuana cigarette inside his jacket pocket. Angel denied any knowledge of the marijuana and told officers someone else used his jacket before him and left the marijuana in there.
Angel was arrested and transported to the Jessamine County Detention Center, according to the citation.

— Corey Arnold, 29, of 6256n Danville Road Loop Apt. 2 in Nicholasville, was arrested for failure to appear.
— Mathew Neil Lawson, 31, of 320 Crowe Lane in Nicholasville, was arrested for falsely reporting an incident.
— Jeffery Wayne Puckett, 34, of 218 Locust Heights in Nicholasville, was arrested March 11 for a parole violation.
— Breon Nigel Jones, 33, of 566 Radcliffe Road in Lexington, was arrested March 11 for DUI.
— Anthony L. Current, 39, of 150 Forrest Elliot Drive in Nicholasville, was arrested March 11 for violation of a Kentucky emergency protection order.
— John Salib, 27, of 5007 N. New Hope Road Apt. A3 in Raleigh, North Carolina, was arrested March 12 for speeding 26 mph over the limit and reckless driving.
— Anthony Abney, 27, of 107 High St. in Nicholasville, was arrested March 12 for contempt of court and failure to appear.
