Almeda Bruner
Feb. 13, 1925 – July 11, 2018
Almeda E. Bruner, age 93, of Lancaster, passed away Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at Landmark of Lancaster. Born Feb. 13, 1925 in Garrard County, she was a daughter of the late Barney “Pete” East and Christine Preston East.
She had been retired from the Department of Finance for the state where she had worked over 36 years.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Doris Rose Preston and Lois Lanham, as well as her husband, Robert P. “Nuck” Bruner.
She and Nuck enjoyed their many travels together. They eventually were able to visit all 50 states, her favorite being their most recent vacation, their road trip to Alaska. A
lmeda was also a member of Victory Christian Church.
Almeda leaves behind two nieces, Teresa (Darrell) Estes, Karen (the late Bryce) McCulley, two nephews, Billy (Cindy) Lanham & Kevin (Amy) Preston, all of Lancaster. She was fondly known as Aunt Meme to her seven great and 12 great great nieces and nephews.
Her funeral services will be 11 a.m., Monday, July 16, 2018 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home by Rev. Darrell Estes & Rev. Leon Thomas, with burial following in Camp Nelson National Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Holton & Harry Howard, Ryan Preston, Scott Hicks, Braden Carmack, Dudley Hacker & Jon Wentworth.
Honorary bearers will be Marti Lowry, Cora “Tootsie” Schmiers, Liz Stephens, Ida Mae Brogle, Dr. Gina D’Costa & Shannon Ballard.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may go to St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital or Heritage Hospice. Visitation hours will be from 5 to 8 p.m., Sunday, July 15, 2018 at the funeral home.

Alfred E “Gene” Bryant
June 14, 1946 – July 10, 2018
Alfred E. “Gene” Bryant, 72 of Nicholasville, widower of Judy Preston Bryant, passed away Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at his home. Gene was a son of the late Alfred Bryant and Margaret Lamb Bryant Lear and was a bus driver for the Jessamine County School system.
He is survived by two brothers, Roger and John Bryant; special nieces, Annette Foley and Vicky Berryman.
He also leaves behind his “pride and joy” Buster, Tinkerbelle and Molly.
Along with his wife Judy, Gene was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles, Raymond and Curtis “Doc” Bryant and a sister Anna Berryman.
Services were held Friday, July 13, 2018 at Kerr Brothers – E. Main. Burial was at Lexington Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Brandon and Justin Walton, Leslie Berryman, Charles Bryant, Christopher Hodge and Gary Lynam.
Charles Ronald Hunt
Aug. 1,1934 – July 12, 2018
Charles Ronald Hunt, 83, loving husband to the late Virgie Lee Barnett Hunt, passed away Thursday, July 12, 2018.
Charles was born to Frank and Hattie Thompson Hunt in Rockcastle County, Kentucky, on Aug. 1, 1934.
He worked in packing and receiving at the Bluegrass Army Depot.
Charles is survived by his son Shannon Ray Hunt, and daughter Rita Hunt Parker.
He is preceded in death by two sons, David and Norman Hunt, and a granddaughter Autumn Hunt.
Services are Monday, July 16, 2018, at noon, at Betts and West Funeral Home. Rev. James Humphrey will serve as clergy.
Visitation will be Sunday, July 14, 2018 from 4 to 8 p.m., also at Betts & West Funeral Home.

Bruce Allen Bowman
June 9, 1963 – July 11, 2018
Bruce Allen Bowman, 55, passed away July 11, 2018. He was born in Fayette County on June 9, 1963, to James Edward “Buck” and Mary Mae Walker Bowman.
Bruce was a tractor trailer driver. He was also a member of the Nicholasville Church of Christ.
He is survived by his brother Jimmy Bowman, nephews Chad (Andrea) Sponcil and Brad (Amy) Bowman, niece Jennifer (Todd) Barnes, great nieces Katie Bowman, Delaney, Lindsay, and Lauren Barnes, great nephews Dalton Hall, Cole Barnes, and Ryan Sponcil. Special friends Mason Blackford, Addey, Sam, Lesley and Morgan Lawson, Jaxon and Andee Grace Applegate, Fawn, Chad and Reatta Armstrong, Randy Howard, Jacob, Patsy and Luke Spears, Kevin Detheridge, Bob Humphrey, Owen Rhineheimer, Dave Brown, and Jeff Riester & family.
Bruce is preceded in death by his sister Mary Lynn Sponcil.
Services were 1 p.m., Saturday, July 14, 2018, at Betts and West Funeral Home. Pastor Lee Baltzer served as clergy.
Visitation was Friday, July 13, 2018 from 4 to 9 p.m., and Saturday, July 14, 2018 from 9 a.m. till the time of service.

Robert Robby White
Oct. 2, 1980 – July 15, 2018
Robert “Robby” Douglas White Jr., passed away July 15, 2018 at his residence.
Robby was born on Oct. 2, 1980, in Lexington to Robert Douglas White Sr., and Rose Martin White.
He was a mechanic and a member of East Hickman Church.
Besides his parents, he is survived by two sons Conner and Liam Boyd White, one sister Amy Neal Hafley-Marquez, two nieces Whitney Nicole Cloyd and Sierra June Hafley and one nephew Edward Wayne Hafley II.
Robby was preceded in death by one son Landon Cordell.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m., Friday, July 20, 2018, at East Hickman Baptist Church with Pastor Kevin Davidson officiating.
Burial will follow in the Lexington Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m., today at Betts & West Funeral Home.
