Lexington man arrested for DUI,
informs officers he has taken methamphetamine
Austin Stuban, 22, of 419 Reva Way in Lexington, was arrested March 23 for DUI, according to a citation issued by the Nicholasville Police Department.
Officers were called to Speedway on North Main Street concerning a suspicious person by the gas pumps.
Upon arrival, officers found Stuban in a vehicle pulling away from the property. According to the citation, Stuban was trying to “elude officers by the manner in which he was driving.” Turning on to Asbury Drive, Stuban turned of his head lights, hit the brakes, then turned his head lights back on and activated his turn signal, according to the citation.
Stuban was described as manifestly under the influence, having no control over his body, having slurred speech and appearing lethargic.
Stuban reported using methamphetamine in the last 72 hours. A field sobriety test was performed, which Stuban failed.
In his vehicle officers found a scale, spoon and needle. No substances were located.
Stuban refused to a blood test at St. Joseph Hospital telling officers he would fail the test because at that time there were three substances in his system, according to the citation.
Stuban was arrested and housed at the Jessamine County Detention Center.
Nicholasville man arrested for DUI,
taken to hospital for treatment for heavy intoxication
George Marshall Dominick, 46, of 108 Leatherwood Drive in Nicholasville, was arrested March 24 for DUI and possession of an open alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle, according to a citation issued by the Nicholasville Police Department.
Officers received a call about a reckless driver all over the road south bound and that had pulled into Etter Drive. Officers eventually located the vehicle parked behind Little Caesars pizza.
The vehicle left the parking lot after seeing the officers pull in, and allegedly was seen swerving and running off the side of the shoulder of the road until finally stopping on KY 29 in front of Elmer Stevenson Drive.
Officers found multiple beer cans in the back seat of the vehicle and a cup with beer in the cup holder.
Dominick was described as being unsteady on his feet when exiting the vehicle and having slurred speech. A field sobriety test was performed, which Dominick failed.
Dominick was taken to St. Joseph Hospital, where he received medical treatment because of his level of intoxication, according to the citation.
Lexington man arrested for DUI,
tells officers he had ‘mucho beers’
Santos Lopez-Cortez, 28, of 4057 Mooncoin Way Apt. 8108 in Lexington, was arrested March 26 for speeding 26 mph over the speed limit, DUI, reckless driving and possession of an open alcoholic container in a motor vehicle, according to a citation issued by the Nicholasville Police Department.
Officers observed Lopez-Cortez traveling southbound on US 27 driving 86 mph in a 55 mph zone.
Officers attempted to stop Lopez-Cortez on Howard Drive. He did not pull over and continued traveling southbound until he finally came to a stop on Imperial Way.
Lopez-Cortez exited the vehicle without being told to do so, and was detained. He described as unsteady on his feet.
Lopez-Cortez told officers he did not speak English very well, and understood very little, according to the citation.
Lopez-Cortez then allegedly told officers he had “mucho beers.” A preliminary breath test was given, with the result of .207.
An open Heineken bottle was found inside the vehicle cup holder.
Lopez-Cortez was placed under arrest and transported to the Jessamine County Detention Center, according to the citation.
Lexington man arrested for DUI after being observed driving off road into grass
Zachary M. Broadus, 23, of 420 Woodview Drive Apt. A in Lexington, was arrested March 28 for DUI, according to a citation issued by the Nicholasville Police Department.
Officers received a call about a reckless driver traveling east on US 169, and conducted a traffic stop after observing Broadus drive off the road into the grass, according to the citation.
Officers attempted to perform a field sobriety test, but Broadus allegedly told officers he could not stand.
Broadus had slurred speech and difficulty keeping his balance to stand up, and allegedly told officers he had three alcoholic beverages.
A preliminary breath test was administered with a result of .108.
Broadus submitted to a breath test with a result of .114, and allegedly vomited during the initial observation, according to the citation.
Broadus was arrested and transported to the Jessamine County Detention Center.
Nicholasville woman involved in accident arrested for DUI after allegedly smoking marijuana
Shelbie Grace Staton, 18, of 105 Old Wilmore Road in Nicholasville, was arrested April 1 for DUI, according to a citation issued by the Nicholasville Police Department.
Officers responded to a two-vehicle non-injury collision, which Staton was involved in. Staton was interviewed and officers said she smelled like marijuana.
Staton admitted to smoking marijuana prior to driving and a horizontal gaze test was administered.
Based on clues given by Staton, she was arrested and transported to St. Joseph Hospital for blood testing after which she was taken to the Jessamine County Detention Center.
