Jessamine man arrested after drug bust last week

An undercover drug operation involving the Nicholasville-Jessamine County Drug Task Force last week ended in the arrest of a Jessamine County-Fayette County man.
Johnathan Cook was taken into custody on Thursday, Oct. 19 on the charges of trafficking in controlled substances in the first degree (two counts) and trafficking in a controlled substance in the third degree. Cook was also arrested on an outstanding warrant for parole violation and another undisclosed charge.
According to authorities, additional charges will be brought against Cook once the investigation has been completed.
A prepared press release from the Nicholasville Police Department stated that the drug bust resulted in the seizure of 34 grams of heroin and 36 grams of methamphetamine, as well as Methadone, Suboxone and Xanax. Also recovered at the scene was nearly $3,000 in cash and digital scales.
Cook is currently housed in the Jessamine County Detention Center.
