Congratulating our graduating seniors

The sight of numerous square hats flying into the air only to rest for a moment against the light blue clouded sky is a memory I, and many others, hold dear. Those silly-looking hats in the air signified a milestone: graduating high school.
Though I spent several hours coloring the top of that cap before graduation, mine was among the many in the air, and when it came down, I never found it. That didn’t bother me too much because I was caught up in the thrills of going out into the real word, which turned out to be more work than I anticipated.
Time sure does seem to fly by. I have already stumbled upon my friends and former classmates planning our 10-year high school reunion on Facebook for next year. While I’m planning to celebrate, or mourn, the fact that 10 years have gone by, many others are just now putting on their cap and gowns and preparing to storm the real world with their own ideas. Many of those students are coming from East and West Jessamine High Schools and The Providence School.
I believe I have seen the bright youthful faces of each graduating senior, as I was given the tedious task of putting together the 2017 Jessamine Journal Graduation tabloid. Over 300 pictures and 28 pages later, I am excited to be able to show our readers the graduating classes of 2017. The tabloid will be available in the next issue of The Jessamine Journal on May, 25. Don’t forget, graduation for East and West Jessamine High School begins at 4 p.m. on Friday, May 19 at Southland Christian Church and The Providence School Graduation begins at 7 p.m. on Monday, May 22 at Wilmore Free Methodist Church. Congratulations to all the graduating seniors of 2017, whether you are work ready, college bound or just taking a break, may your paths be clear, your imagination big and your determination unfaltering. You are the future, nothing is impossible when you are great by choice.
