Bethel Church, located at 3260 Lexington Road in Nicholasville, will host Community Spring Fest for the third year.
The family-friendly event has drawn in over 5,000 people the past two years it has occurred, said Kim Drummond, one of the members of the planning committee who has been preparing for the event since November.
The free activities include five different inflatables, face painting, balloon animals, games, a live DJ, dance demonstrations and more.
Drummond said this year the event will host an even larger number of vendors than in previous years.
“Every year you learn new things, and things get better,” she said.
Local restaurants will offer a variety of food and drinks including kettle corn, Kona Ice and barbecue.
Arts and crafts vendors will also be in attendance offering handmade items such as jewelry, essential oils, woodworking, bath and beauty products and handcrafted gifts.
The church will also supply 2,000 eggs for Easter Egg hunts that are scheduled throughout the day by age groups. Ages 0 to 3 years will hunt at 1 p.m., 4 to 7 years will be at 2 p.m. and 8 to 11 years will hunt at 3 p.m.
Those who wish to attend are asked for a canned good donation that will go toward the Bethel Harvest Foodbank that provides meals to dozens of families in Jessamine and Fayette Counties.
The Community Spring Fest will be from 12 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 15.
“I’m excited,” Drummond said. “I think the weather is going to be great.”
