Many Jessamine County officials were present at the courthouse on November 15 to honor the West Jessamine High School girls soccer team for winning their first State Championship.
The team received keys to the cities of Nicholasville and Wilmore.
State Senator Tom Buford, State Representatives Russ Meyer and Kim King, Judge Executive David West, Nicholasville Mayor Pete Sutherland and Wilmore Mayor Harold Rainwater each spoke to the team concerning their accomplishments.
The West team won the championship over Lexington Catholic on Nov. 5 at Bryan Station High School, 4 to 0.
