East boys’ cross country places fifth at Tates Creek Invitational

The East Jessamine varsity cross country team took to the road on Saturday and traveled to Masterson Station Park in Lexington to participate in the Tates Creek Invitational.
Though the boys’ team failed to finish in the top five at the meet, the team was able to compete against some of the top teams in Lexington. The Jags finished in sixth place with 200 points, while Covington Catholic, Paul Dunbar, Eaton, Tates Creek and Lexington Catholic rounded out the top five.
Individually, the Jags were led by the 35th place finish of Ryan Wall. He finished with a time of 17:28.22. Preston Sagastegui followed in 38th place with a time of 17:34.57.
East will hit the track next at the Cross County All-Comers meet on Thursday, which is hosted by Lincoln County High School.
