A man charged in a 2008 murder case is now back in jail after violating his bond agreement by failing to appear for a hearing in Jessamine County circuit court.
David Peel set off his ankle monitor last Monday, Sept. 19. A hearing in his case was scheduled for Friday, but officials say he did not show up for it.
A warrant was issued for his arrest, and shortly after that Peel was discovered at a campsite off Bethany Road by deputies from the Jessamine County Sheriff’s Office
He was arrested Friday afternoon and was lodged in the Jessamine County Dentition Center as of Tuesday.
Peel is charged by Kentucky State Police in the murder of Nicholasville resident Mark Dunn.
In 2008, Dunn’s body was found in a burned truck. An autopsy later determined Dunn had been shot before the vehicle caught fire.
Another man, Odis Henson, pleaded guilty to arson and evidence tampering in the case.
