Jessamine teens can travel the world with new virtual library program
Ever wondered what life is like in other countries? Teens can join the Jessamine County Public Library in taking a virtual field trip to the land down under – Australia.
During this virtual event, teens who participate will have the opportunity to meet teens from abroad and discuss the things they have in common — or the things that make them unique.
“The goal of the Teen eTravel program is to inspire teens to think more globally about their futures,” said JCPL Teen Services Librarian Jacqueline Cooper. “I would like them to know about other cultures and places, so they understand that they can reach beyond areas they know.”
The event will take place at 6 p.m. Friday, March 5. Registration is required and space is limited.
Teens who register will receive a travel pack with souvenirs from Australia and will receive a link to join the video call. During the program, they will be able to discover different traditions, food, music and more. They might even make a new pen pal in the process.
Keep an eye out for future events from JCPL teens and let the library know where you would like to eTravel in the future.
