N’ville Elementary raises money for shelter

Students from the student council at Nicholasville Elementary presented Director of the Jessamine County Homeless Shelter, Johnny Templin, with a check on Dec. 13.

The check was from a school-wide campaign, the “change drive,” that was coordinated by the students.

Principal Sara Crum of Nicholasville Elementary said the students made their own collection containers and raised $645.00 for the  emergency and 90-day shelter located in Nicholasville.

“It has been something that children have done on their own,” Templin said. “It brought me into tears and prayer in the car. I was just praising this.”
