Jessamine Journal’s reporter honored at KPA

The Jessamine Journal won three awards at the Kentucky Press Association (KPA) Winter Convention banquet in Lexington on Friday.
It’s been several years since the Jessamine Journal has placed in KPA’s award banquet. An out-of-state press association judges submissions. This year, it was the Arkansas Press Association.
The Journal’s reporter, Gillian Stawiszynski, placed first place in the “breaking news” category, third place in the “general news” category, and third place in the “best front page” category.
The banquet lists the first, second, and third place winners of several categories in the advertising and news sectors, in addition to winners of the Journalists of the Year honor and the 2024 Jon Fleischaker Freedom of Information Awards.
