Students from Brookside Elementary gathered at the Jessamine County Public Library on Monday to celebrate finishing the book Stowaway! (Puppy Pirates book number one) 

The second and third-grade students read the entire book in five weeks. 

This was the first year the elementary school hosted an online book club. During the readings, the students answered questions on a blog and the author of the book, Erin Soderberg read them. 

During the wrap-up party, students skyped with Soderberg and asked her questions about her book and her career.

The event ended with a scavenger hunt with pirate treasure prizes.
