Over 50 students participated in the fifth annual National History Day at East Jessamine Middle School on Friday, Feb. 17.

The students were judged in various areas such as making an exhibit, writing a paper, doing a presentation or making a documentary. This year’s theme was “taking a stand.” They then presented their research to over 400 other students in the school.

The 50 finalists are invited to participate in the Regional National History Day Competition at Eastern Kentucky University on March 4. Winners will then attend the State NHD Competition at the end of April.
