Omar Staton Jr., 78, widower of Charlotte Spencer Staton, passed away on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at the home of his daughter in Nicholasville, Kentucky. He was born in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, on June 29, 1946, to the late Omar Staton, Sr. and Edith Ellington Staton. Omar was a farmer and mechanic, a member of Pinckard Baptist Church, and a member of the Army Reserve. Survivors include his wife, Judy Fitzsimons, two daughters, Cheryl Lee Baker (Joey Drinkard) and McKayla Staton, a grandson, Christopher McKinley Baker, and a granddaughter, Khloe Drinkard. Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, July 8, 2024, at Betts & West Funeral Home with Adam Alexander officiating. The burial will follow in Bluegrass Memorial Gardens.
