Jags fall in region semis

In a heart-stopping contest, the East Jessamine Jaguars fell 1-0 to the Pulaski County Maroons in the 12th region softball semi-finals last Thursday. The game was tied until the eighth inning when Rilee Ross drew a walk, scoring the winning run. Remie Smith pitched a strong game for the Jaguars, striking out eight and walking four over eight innings. Brooklyn Thomas earned the win for Pulaski, striking out 14 and walking one over eight innings. The Jaguars played solid defense, turning one double play, but were limited to just one hit.
East dominates Boyle
Alex Smith’s impressive performance led the Jaguars to a resounding 14-3 victory over the Boyle County Rebels last Wednesday. Smith hit two home runs and drove in two runs, while Natalie Alimento went 3-for-4 at the plate and led the team with four runs batted in. The Jaguars’ offense exploded for five runs in the fifth inning, sealing the win.
Smith also shone on the mound, surrendering five hits and three runs over six innings while striking out six and walking three. The Jaguars played solid defense, turning one double play and committing no errors. Alimento led the team with six chances in the field.
