Mr. David Wilson, age 80, of Richmond, formerly of Nicholasville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 4, 2023, at home in the arms of his loving wife after a 35 year honeymoon.
He was born in Shelby County, Kentucky on July 29, 1942, to Earl Price Wilson and Luna Moore Wilson. He retired from Borden Dairy after 22 years of dedicated service before moving to Georgia to become the Dock Foreman at University Yacht Club for 16 years. David was a tender-hearted man who took pleasure in simple things like ice cream at bedtime, pancakes for breakfast and bananas any time. He enjoyed fishing, watching history shows and dancing with his wife in the kitchen while listening to the music of George Jones. A proud U.S. Army Veteran, he was stationed in Korea during the Vietnam War. He was a lifetime member of DAV, American Legion and was an honorable Kentucky Colonel.
Mr. Wilson is survived by his wife, Arlene Wilson, two sons: Duane (Gina) Wilson and Steven Adam (Melissa) Wilson, two grandchildren: Liam P. Wilson and Kinsley R. Wilson and two stepdaughters: Stacy and Jennifer with seven step-grandchildren. He also cherished his relationship with his “volleyball granddaughter,” Madison Frederick.
Committal Services will full Military Honors were conducted on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at Camp Nelson National Cemetery in Jessamine County.
Pallbearers were Duane Wilson, Steven Adam Wilson, Greg Vagase, Bruce Frederick, Kevin Detherage and Clifford Hensley.
