Jessamine has had more than 4,500 COVID cases

The Jessamine County Health Department reported 11 new COVID-19 cases Tuesday, bringing thetotal since the pandemic began in March 2020 to 4,513.
As of April 27, there were 38 active cases in the county, and six were currently hospitalized.
Sixty-three Jessamine Countians have died of the respiratory illness; 4,412 have recovered.
Information from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s COVID Data Tracker shows that 29.4 percent of Jessamine’s population has been fully vaccinated.
Epidemiologists have said they believe that at least 70-85 percent of the population must be vaccinated to contain the disease.
By far the greatest number with COVID IN Jessamine County are those between the ages of 18 and 30. Those with the lowest are 80 and older. Slightly more women than men have had the virus in the county.
