Lexington man arrested after pursuit

Police arrested a Lexington man after he allegedly fled from officers and crashed into another car.
Zachary Ryan Dailey, 28, was arrested by Nicholasville Police on a number of offenses following the incident Sept. 16.
According to the arrest citation, officers were on patrol along U.S. 27 at 9:34 p.m. when a vehicle was recorded traveling at 89 mph in a 55 zone. After attempting to stop the vehicle, it turned onto Ashgrove Road where the driver lost control of his vehicle and crashed into another car.
The driver, identified as Dailey, got out of his car at the officer’s command. Dailey began speaking about a number of incidents and smelled of alcohol. While searching the car, officers found a container of suspected marijuana and a handgun.
Dailey was taken to St. Joseph Jessamine and spoke with an attorney, but refused to submit to a blood test. He was then cleared to be lodged in the Jessamine County Detention Center.
Dailey was charged with speeding, first-degree fleeing or evading police, first-degree wanton endangerment, reckless driving, driving under the influence, possession of open container of alcohol in motor vehicle, failure to maintain insurance and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
