Nicholasville-based Shindig! Productions and the Salvation Army are decking the halls of the City Limits Entertainment Center for an evening of merry music and festive philanthropy this Saturday.

Tickets for the Jukebox Holiday Musical Revue are available for $5 for adults and $2 for children 10 and under. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., with tickets available for purchase at the door and in advance.

The Jukebox Holiday Musical Revue, an evening of performances of Christmas standards and holiday favorites, will begin at 6 p.m. at 106 Courchelle Drive in Nicholasville.

The cast of performers includes professional musicians from the region coming together and sharing their talents to help the Salvation Army recieve one more push for donations for the area’s needy citizens.

“Despite everyone’s hectic seasonal schedules, we are all looking forward to the event very much,” said Nick Hon, the program’s assistant director. “We have fun playing around with these songs, but it is the cause that we are so fortunate to be involved with that is going to make the evening really special for us.”

Music for the event will feature The Little Big Band, consisting of Coty Taylor on piano, Joel Murtaugh on bass, Mike Ward on percussion, Valerie Hildabrand on trombone, Taylor Gustad on trumpet and Hon on lead guitar. Performing vocalists will be Kristen Taylor and Joe Yunker, with a guest appearance by Scott Collins and Justin Cromer, as well as Mike and Mary Richardson from the Hepcats Swing Dance Club. Long-time local music and entertainment conductor and promoter Teg Evans is the production’s director.

Special guests appearing at the concert will be Santa Claus himself, as well as a certain green and ornery major motion picture star. Light refreshments will be provided.

Also on hand for the event will be Majors Tom and Susan Hinzman from the Lexington Corps of the Salvation Army, along with Maj. Randy Davis from the Nicholasville office. Donations of toys for children, as well as winter hats and gloves for all ages, are encouraged and will be accepted on behalf of the Salvation Army to help make this Christmas a little warmer and merrier for some of Jessamine County’s less fortunate.
