Jessamine DUI offers education program
The Jessamine DUI and Substance Abuse Program offers a 20-hour education program weekly from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. An out-patient program is offered Mondays at 11 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Assessments are by appointment only. Attendees must have a court AOC form, citation and conviction date prior to appointment. Body Recall class taught
Carolyn Walter will teach her exercise class “Body Recall,” from 2 to 3 p.m., Monday, Wednesday and Friday until further notice at The Well Nutrition, located at 123 Orchard Drive. Walters is a 23-year teacher. All are welcome. For more information, call 859-548-8203 or 859-241-3552.
CASA volunteer orientation Sept. 24
CASA of the Bluegrass will hold a volunteer orientation at 6 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 24, at its office, 473 W. Walnut St., Danville. This event will inform attendees about the work CASA of the Bluegrass does in the community and what it takes to be a CASA volunteer.
CASA (court-appointed special advocate) volunteers are appointed to cases in Boyle, Mercer, Anderson and Franklin family courts to represent the best interests of children in cases of abuse, neglect and dependency. Jessamine Classic Theatre presents ‘Oklahoma!’
Jessamine Classic Theatre presents “Oklahoma!” on stage at Bethel Harvest Church, located at 3260 Lexington Road, starting at 7 p.m. Aug. 24, 25, 30, 31 and Sept. 1. Tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for children 13 years old and younger. Tickets can be bought in advance by visiting jctyk.com or at the door.
Dare to be Square
Square Dance Classes from the Down Under Squares will be from 7 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 12, at the Jessamine County Fairgrounds blue building in Nicholasville. The first two lessons are free.
