Jessamine County School Board briefs published on Sept. 29

—The Director of Finance Tim Lemaster will be retiring on Friday after working with the Jessamine County School Board for 17 years.
— An attendance flag was given to Red Oak Elementary, who achieved 97.52 percent attendance this month and
West Middle and West High kept their attendance flags.
The most improved attendance flag went to Providence School.
— All 41 consent items were approved.
— The working budget for the 2016-2017 school year was approved.
— The graduation contract between Jessamine County schools and Southland Christian Church was approved. Graduation is tentatively set for May 19 or in the event of snow days or any other type of emergency to prevent school getting out on time it would go to June 2.
— A job description and position for an Assistant Director of Adult Education was approved. The position will cost $4,388 and paid for through Assistant Director of Adult Education.
— The first reading of revisions to policy 10.4 — advertising in the schools — was approved.
— A contract for CLEAR Government investigations for the 2016-2017-18 and 2018-19 school years was approved. The service will be used as a means for yearly enrollemnt verifications based on attendance area locations within and outside of Jessamine County. In addition this service will support dropout reduction through accurate reporting.
Funds for the service will be provided from Director of Pupil Personnel/Student Services. It will cost $1,800 the first year. The cost will increase five percent for the second and third year. The service is only to be used by the Director of Pupil Personnel office.
