Joretta Johns Grow, 93, widow of David Grow, daughter of the late Ed and Mabel English Johns, mother of Donna (Gerald) Cobb and the late Gary Dale Grow, passed peacefully at her home Thursday, July 4, in the loving presence of her daughter and a devoted caregiver following an extended illness. Joretta was the last surviving of her siblings (Kenneth, Verdenia, Charles E. “Sunny,” Billy, and Arby). In addition to her daughter, survivors are grandchildren, Matt (Lynn) Cobb and Geri (Chad) Cadle. Six beautiful great-grandchildren also survive: Caleb, Kaitlyn, and Kylie Cadle, and Caroline, Mary Clara and Matthew Cobb. Joretta cherished her church, family, friends, neighbors, and life on the farm with her husband before retiring to The Lone Oak Community where she was pampered by her good neighbors. Arrangements are with Betts & West Funeral Home. Visitation at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, July 10, with service at 2:00 PM. Burial will be at Maple Grove Cemetery. Family members will lead the service. Active pallbearers are: Matt Cobb, Matthew Cobb, Chad Cadle, Caleb Cadle, Billy Teater, and Scott Johns. Honorary pallbearers are: Glenn Carter, Ron Carter, Ed Easterly, Ronald Johns, Kerry Kearns, Donna Lewis, Dorothy Peel, Ken Seaton, Robert Thompson, and Joe Taylor. The family is eternally grateful for the loving care provided by Joretta’s incomparable caregiving team and to Bluegrass Care Navigators.
