The Nicholasville Rotary Club recently met for their weekly Monday Luncheon once again at the Central Bank and Trust Co. on 301 North Main Street. 

 

Every Monday, after spending the first half hour socializing and eating lunch, the group discards their food wrappers and boxes to focus on the weekly speaker.

 

This time, the club heard from Kyle Roe, the current president of the chamber of commerce and a benefit advisor for a consulting firm called the BIM Group. 

 

BIM Group is a consulting firm that helps employers find the most cost-effective benefits packages for their clients, no matter how small, according to Roe. 

 

“We have no affiliation to any company we push (for benefits). The way we look at benefits and how to serve the client is we use their buying power. What I mean by that is the number of employees can be as low as ten.. no matter how big or small you are, you have to consider your buying power,” Roe said, adding that with BIM’S partners, it is able to offer small businesses prices that are normally only available to large employers. 

 

BIM serves employers all over the state, including the city of Lexington, the city of Henderson, a lot of other local government agencies, Lexington Clinic, Gray Construction, Four Roses Bourbon, Pikeville Medical Center, The Farm Bureau, and many other banks. The group also serves plenty of colleges including Berea College, Union College, University of the Cumberlands, Transylvania University, Lindsey Wilson College, the Asbury Seminary and Georgetown College.

 

Roe says his main role as a consultant is helping companies use pay and benefits to retain employees and then “getting (their) employees to value and understand their benefits.” 

 

“In 2023, we supported a grand total of 635 employer clients and 90,000 people,” Roe said.
