Roberta Lucille Bruner Perkins, 90, widow of Goble Perkins, formerly of 312 West Chestnut Street Nicholasville, passed away Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at the Willows at Hamburg in Lexington, Kentucky. She was born in Jessamine County on January 18, 1933, to the late Jesse Bruner and Elizabeth Stinnett Bruner. She was a longtime member of Lighthouse Baptist Church. Left to cherish her memory are her brother, Luther Bruner; grandchildren, Stanley Durham (Lisa), Shannon Durham, and Ashley Perkins (Tyler); great-grandchildren, NajaRe’ Tichenor (Todd), Rachael Durham (Derek), Luke Durham, and Jacob Durham; great-great-grandchildren, Maliek Washington, Micah Durham, Tiana Tichenor, Todd Tichenor Jr., Romelo Tichenor, and Rinleigh Tichenor; special niece, Ada Bruner and several other nieces and nephews, daughter-in-law, Terrye Perkins. In addition to her husband, Goble, she is preceded in death by a son, Billy Perkins; daughter, Judy Johns; brothers, Homer Garnett Bruner, Shirley Bruner, Jay Bruner, Henry Bruner, and Paul Bruner; as well as sisters, Lorraine Patterson, Lucy Shearer, Gladys Hurt, and Christine Bruner. Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, August 19, at Betts & West Funeral Home with Dan Barnes officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, where bearers will be Stanley Durham, Luke Durham, Jacob Durham, Maliek Washington, Micah Durham, Johnny Sherrow, and Todd Tichenor. Romelo Tichenor will serve as an honorary bearer. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until the time of service, Saturday, at the funeral home. Roberta’s family wishes to extend a special thanks to the Willows at Hamburg for all of the special care and support they provided during her time there.
