A man shot and killed his wife and then himself Sunday, according to Nicholasville police.
NPD Sgt. Kevin Grimes said the agency received a call about a domestic situation at 8:45 p.m. Sunday at a residence on Linden Lane, where they found a husband and wife deceased within the home.
The husband and wife were home with the wife’s three children — a 15-year-old daughter, an 8-year-old daughter and a 7-year-old son. Grimes said police know the husband and wife were arguing before the shooting because the 15-year-old daughter called 911.
According to several media reports, police believe a husband shot his wife in the home before getting into his car and taking his own life.
All three children were physically unharmed and are staying with family members, police say.
The police investigation is ongoing. Further information was not available as of press time.
