Man arrested for shooting neighboring residence with BB gun

A Nicholasville man is facing multiple counts of criminal mischief and shooting air or spring guns after allegedly damaging a neighbor’s home.

Joseph Owens, 35, of 109 Pleasant Grove, was charged Saturday after a Nicholasville Police officer witnessed the incident. According to court documents, an officer was on foot patrol at 9 p.m. Saturday on Pleasant Grove when he saw a person open the door at 109 Pleasant Grove and fire several shots at 108 Pleasant Grove. Officers noted several windows at 108 Pleasant Grove were damaged and would need to be replaced.

Owens told officers he had fired shots at 108 Pleasant Grove on two other occasions as well, and admitted to firing the rounds Saturday.

Owens was arrested on two counts of third-degree criminal mischief and for violating a city ordinance prohibiting shooting an air or spring gun within the city limits.
