Disappointed to see King participated in May 2 protest
It was extremely disappointing to me to learn that State Rep. Kim King participated in the May 2 protest in Frankfort.
Everyone has a right to protest, but when safety measures are ignored, and some participants are carrying guns and holding Confederate flags, the important messages are lost.
It is easy to see this same phenomenon as some rioters protesting the horrible death of George Floyd turn from expressing their anger and grief in a peaceful way to burning and looting.
Right now, understandably, people are fearful and angry as they experience this new pandemic and economic challenges.
However, I would like to think that the residents in District 55 and our elected officials are above spurning safety measures that can decrease the spread of COVID-19 and using symbols of hate to express anger towards our governor.
He has had an enormous responsibility to control the spread of COVID-19 to protect Kentuckians and needs our support.
Evidently, King does not agree.
