Jeane Walker
Oct. 7, 1932 – Nov. 3, 2019
Gladys Jeane Walker of Magnolia Way, Nicholasville passed away peacefully Sunday, Nov. 3, 2019 at the Lexington Veterans Administration Community Living Center. Born Oct. 7, 1932 in Ronceverte, W.Va., she was one of nine children of Lemuel and Ada Grace Leslie Walker. Jeane was admired by her friends for her intelligence, graceful demeanor, strong will, southern charm and beauty.
Having departed from the hills of West Virginia shortly after high school, Jeane worked briefly with GE in Lexington, then entered the Army WAC service. After serving she returned to Lex. and even though she lived in other states, Kentucky was her home and final resting place. Jeane worked with Dr. Gayle Alexander at the Blue Grass Animal Hospital in Lex., where she acquired her love for animals. She attended business college and worked secretarial and accounting jobs.
At her side in the final days of her life were her brother James and wife Donna Walker. Nieces: Genny Bruce, Kim Walker, Leslie and husband Adrian Martin. Nephews: Kenny Spencer, Mike Walker, Carl Ridgeway, and Robert and wife Joanne Bruce. Sister and brother, Juanita Eidell and Henry Walker also were there for her at the end to comfort her.
Jeane leaves behind two brothers and three sisters as well as many nieces and nephews. At Jeane’s request, arrangements for cremation will be provided by Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home of Nicholasville with no services to be provided. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bethany Christian Church, 1360 Bethany Rd., Nicholasville, Ky. The family would like to thank the staff and nurses of both the Cooper Drive and Leestown campuses of the VA for their exceptional and compassionate care of Jeane during her final days. Edwin Clark Tipton
Jan. 28, 1933 – Nov. 2, 2019
On Saturday, November 2, 2019, Edwin Clark “Jack” Tipton, passed away at the age of 86 sleeping in his “comfortable” bed at home. Son of the late Carson and Grace Tipton, he was born on Jan. 28, 1933 in Wheelwright Ky. Jack was the devoted husband of late June Evelyn Tipton (2/16/17) for 64 years, the proud father of three children Debra Ann (Randy) Bentley, Anthony Clark “Tony” Tipton, and Martha “Melinda” (Bruce) Drake. He was blessed and loved by his grandchildren, Jarrod (Sara) Bentley and Sarah Bentley, Joshua (Kayla) Tipton, Thomas Tipton and Tony Tipton, Jr., Jack (Jordan) Drake, Wade Drake and Johnny Bruce Drake, as well as three great grandchildren, Natalie, Carson, and Wyatt, a brother-in-law Charles Ramey, and sister Shirley Ann Herron, in addition to many other family members and friends.
Jack was loved by his family and numerous friends throughout Eastern and Central Ky. Jack retired from Forest City Mgt. as Property Mgr. of Carl D Perkins Senior Living Virgie, Ky in 2006. In retirement Jack owned Jacks Taxi where he lived in Nicholasville, Ky.
He was a member of Broadway Christian Church, a friend of Bill W and active member of AA for 55 years, just short of his 37 year token for sobriety, a tenant at Hartland Hills Retirement since 2017.
He will be remembered for his smile, the hope he gave to others, unconditional love, generosity, always being there when you needed him, and the jokes/stories he told.
A service was held Wednesday Nov. 6th, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Hager and Cundiff Funeral Home. Jack was laid to rest at Bluegrass Memorial Gardens next to his wife June. His family received friends at Malones Prime Events, 3447 Tates Creek Rd. Lexington, Ky from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday to honor Jack’s wonderful life. Honoring him as pallbearers were his 7 grandsons. Honorary pallbearers were Anthony “Tony” Tipton, Bruce Drake, Randall Bentley, Robert Darby, Charles Ramey, and Bruin Martin. Ida Ruth Canter

Ida Ruth Montgomery Canter 92, widow of Alonza Green “A.G.” Canter, of Sugar Creek Pike, died Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at the home of her daughter. She was born on September 13, 1927 to the late Marion Lucas and Nannie Coulter Montgomery and she was a lifelong farmer, a member at Little Hickman Christian Church and a member of the Jessamine Co. Beef Cattle Association, the Oak Hill Homemakers and Jessamine County Homemaker of the Year.
She is survived by her children, Ida Gayle (Brad) Teater, David Canter and his friend, Linda S. Anderson, Rebecca C. Hilterbran, six grandchildren, Greg (Tracy) Teater, Vanessa Canter, Crystie (Matt) Young, Sherri (Tim) Trainer, Alan (Sarah) Canter, Leslee (Richie) Horn, ten great grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren, a sister in law, Faye Canter, brother in law, Ray W. Carter a daughter in law, Kay Jacina, numerous other relatives. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Wanda Carol Canter, two sisters, Lucille Noe and Glady Pollard, two brothers, Charles Montgomery and Vernon Clay Montgomery and a son-in-law, Mike Hilterbran.
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Betts & West Funeral Home with Bro. Lee Baltzer officiating. Burial will follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Bearers will be grandchildren and their spouses. Barbara Ann Cook Bruner

Barbara Ann Cook Bruner, 64, passed away October 28, 2019 at her residence. She was born on February 8, 1955 in Roanoke Virginia to the late Lenwood Vernon and Joyce Marie Craighead Cook.
Barbara was a long time employee at Wal-Mart in Nicholasville. She is survived by one son Tim (Jacqueline) Bruner, one daughter Amanda (Henry) Foster, four grandchildren Jacob Russell, Madilyn Rae, Emme Renae and Kate Isabella, and three sisters Linda (David) Moores, Carol Gibson and Dottie Metz. Besides her parents he was preceded in death by one brother David Cook. Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 1, 2019, at Betts & West Funeral Home.
