Daily Donuts in Nicholasville prides itself on fresh baked goods

Hard work, always fresh baked goods, and a clean and welcoming shop is what the owners of Daily Donuts strive to give customers daily.
The shop opened its doors in Nicholasville in 2012. Located at 908 S. Main St., Owners David Phor and Kim Sun said they could not have foreseen how successful their business would become. Striving to give residents a welcoming shop have earned them a steady and loyal customer base, as well as accolades throughout the community.
“Some customers come every day,” Phor said. “Sometimes, they come in with big orders to take to work, or on Sunday to take donuts for the people at church.”
The shop is open from 5 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday, 5 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday. The shop is located in the strip next to Arby’s in Edgewood.
Although the shop closes in the early afternoon each day, Phor and Sun have put in a full day of work by the time the last donut is sold.
All the baked goods are made fresh daily and by mid-afternoon, the display case is nearly bare.
“We’re open seven days a week, so it’s easy to stop in on your way to work or come by at lunchtime,” Sun said.
Sun also said if customers have a large event coming up and would like to place an order for several dozen donuts or more, they should be sure and call a few days in advance as they usually make only what they typically sell in a day.
If customers purchase 10 dozen donuts or more, they will receive 10 percent off their purchase.
Not only does Daily Donuts make a variety of cake and yeast donuts, fruit fritters, long-johns, cinnamon rolls, and filled pastries, but they also have over two dozen hot breakfast sandwiches to choose from.
“Delicious donuts to be sure, but the real star, in my opinion, is the breakfast sandwiches. They are always hot, fresh, and delicious and they don’t skimp on the bacon,” Dillion Campbell, a customer at Daily Donuts said.
Breakfast Sandwiches can be served on bagels, biscuits, or toast with a variety of meats such as bacon, ham, sausage, along with eggs, cheese, and cream cheese on a bagel. Fresh hot coffee is always waiting, as well as iced specialty coffee drinks. Other beverages, such as milk, juices and bottled water are also available.
The shop also offers frozen fruit smoothies. For customers who are not in a hurry and have time to sit and enjoy their order, two tables are available at the front of the store.
Nicholasville residents showed their appreciation for Daily Donuts by once again voting for them in The Jessamine Journal’s 2019 Best of Business Contest.
Last week, Joe Hall, Jessamine Journal marketing specialist presented Daily Donuts with the Best Donut and the Best Bakery Awards for the second year in a row. Sun said she is anxious to add this year’s Gold Awards on the wall beside the front counter, which already boasts certificates from the Better Business Bureau and the 2018 Jessamine Journal Best of Business Awards.
“The donuts are always fresh and iced coffee is blended perfectly. Service is quick,” Jeremy Stone said.
