Free meal every Saturday at Nicholasville United Methodist
A free meal is served every Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Nicholasville United Methodist Church, located at 303 W. Maple St. in the community Center. No registration or forms to fill out. All are welcome.
Julia’s Room for the Arts hosts summer art classes
Julia’s Room for the Arts (side Entrance to The Family Center, 334 E. Main, Wilmore) announced Art Classes for everyone in June.
Kids of all ages will enjoy our Arts Camps. Jodi Wyse will be teaching modeling with air dried clay. Two day camps ($40 with Lunch), Decorative Bowls and Vases (ages 8 to 16), 9:30 a.m. to noon on June 17 and 19, 9:30 a.m. to noon. Jerri Hemenover will lead Art with a heART: Discover the Masters for grades sixth to 12. Art history and art creation collide with foci on Georgia O’Keefe, Vincent Van Gogh, Georges Seurat, Franz Marc and Andy Warhol, the week of June 24 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for $125/student.
Adult classes also abound! Accomplished Artist Sean Hampton teach Basics of Oil Painting (Ages 14 and up) through three classes at $30 each (all materials and supplies included). Classes are all on the first Tuesday Nights from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. July 2 – Perspective and Atmosphere with a Mountainscape Painting. Wilmore’s Yard Sale Day
set for June 22
Shop throughout Wilmore during their annual Hometown Yard Sale day on Saturday, June 22, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Yard sales will take place throughout the City. A list of registered locations can be found at www.wilmore.org. Boutiques, specialty shops, antique stores, restaurants, Farmers’ Market and food truck open as well.

The Jessamine County Farmers’ Market in Wilmore is open on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The location is the Wilmore City Hall Parking Lot on East Main. Vendors are selling fresh and locally grown seasonal produce such as various lettuces, green onions, asparagus, yellow summer squash and zucchini, as well as honey, perennials, vegetable plants and annuals.
Jessamine DUI offers education program
The Jessamine DUI and Substance Abuse Program offers a 20-hour education program weekly from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. An out-patient program is offered Mondays at 11 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Assessments are by appointment only. Attendees must have a court AOC form, citation and conviction date prior to appointment. Jessamine Piece Quilters have weekly meetings
The Jessamine Piece Quilters meets every Tuesday from 9 to 11 a.m. at The Nicholasville Christian Church, located at 104 S. Second St. Enter through the back door. U.S. Rep. Andy Barr’s field staff will have office hours from 3 to 4 p.m. on the third Friday of every month at the Jessamine County Courthouse, located at 101 N. Main St. Meetings are held on a first come first serve basis. For more information call 859-219-1366.
Well Nutrition hosts Body Recall classes
Carolyn Walter will teach her exercise class “Body Recall,” from 2 to 3 p.m., Monday, Wednesday and Friday at The Well Nutrition, located at 123 Orchard Drive. Exercises are done in a chair and with a chair and are helpful to regain strength, mobility, flexibility. coordination and posture awareness for patients who have suffered from strokes, joint replacement, heart, arthritis and Parkinson’s disease.
