Last week, the Jessamine Journal welcomed Lana Johnson as its new advertising director.
Johnson comes to the newspaper from The Winchester Sun, where she has worked as a sales representative for eight years.
“Lana will be a great addition to our team at The Jessamine Journal,” said publisher Michael Caldwell. “Lana’s expertise is helping customers grow their businesses and helping our marketing experts use all the tools available to them to achieve that same goal.
“She has strong ties to Jessamine County and will be engaged in helping the community and all its businesses move forward.”
Now splitting her time between Jessamine and Clark counties, Johnson is excited and eager to embark on her new role at both newspapers.
She will be working closely with Joe Hall, who is currently and ad representative at The Journal
“I’m excited to join the community in Jessamine County and to get to know residents and businesses while I continue to grow my role with our company,” Johnson said.
Johnson is a native of Somerset, and currently lives in Lexington with her husband, John B. Johnson III, whose family has owned the Central Industrial Park in Nicholasville since 1948.
Together, the couple has three children, Reece, 17, Loran 16, and Ryan 15. Johnson also has an older son, Cody, 24, who lives in Bowling Green.
“I am excited to have Lana join our team here at the Jessamine Journal,” editor Brittany Fuller said. “She brings with her years of experience and I can’t wait to work alongside her as we join together to bring the Jessamine County community the best newspaper we can.
