Jessamine Count Historical Society balloon release
The Jessamine County Historical Society will host a balloon release in honor of the 100th anniversary of World War I at 10 a.m. Nov. 11 at Camp Nelson Cemetery, located at 6980 Danville Road. Those with an ancestor who served in World War I are urged to attend. Photos are asked to be donated to the event. The first 10 photos contributed will receive a coupon for a free Subway sandwich.
Jessamine Count Historical Society book sale
The Jessamine County Historical Society will host a book sale through the month of November from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, and noon to 5 p.m. Saturday located at 216 N. Main St.
Military honors ceremony
A military honors ceremony will be at 6 p.m. Nov. 15 at Edgewood Baptist Church, located at 717 S. Main St. Pastor Samuel Schmidt will welcome everyone followed by a military prayer by Chaplain DeWayne Brewer. For more information call 859-621-9872.
East West Jessamine Bass Team Coats in the Boat
The East and West Jessamine Bass Team announce its inagural Coats in the Boat event from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 10 during the Bass Team Swap Meet at the Jessamine Career and Technology Center, located at 881 Wilmore Road. Fall market and Country Breakfast at High Bridge
A Fall Market and Country Breakfast is scheduled at the High Bridge Fire House Community Center, located in High Bridge, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday Nov. 3. Shoppers can enjoy a home cooked breakfast and then shop from among crafters, direct sales merchandise, baked goods, junk and treasures. Operation Christmas Child
Operation Christmas Child announced its upcoming city-wide effort to collect gifts for children around the world starting Nov. 12. Multiple locations throughout Nicholasville will open to collect shoebox gifts filled with fun toys, school supplies and hygiene items for the Samaritan’s Purse project.
During the project’s National Collection Week, Nov. 12-19, Nicholasville volunteers hope to collect more than 20,222 gifts to contribute to Operation Christmas Child’s 2018 goal of reaching 11 million children in need.

Jessamine DUI offers education program
The Jessamine DUI and Substance Abuse Program offers a 20-hour education program weekly from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. An out-patient program is offered Mondays at 11 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Assessments are by appointment only. Attendees must have a court AOC form, citation and conviction date prior to appointment. Well nutrition hosts Body Recall
