Nicholasville woman arrested for DUI
Mackenzie D. Oaks, 24, of 320 Southview Drive #301 in Nicholasville, was arrested Aug. 2 for a second-offense DUI, no registration plates, license to be in possession and possession of an open alcoholic beverage container in the vehicle, according to a citation issued by the Nicholasville Police Department.
Oaks was stopped by officers for expired registration plates. Upon making contact, Oaks was described as lethargic, having slurred speech and upon exiting the vehicle was allegedly unsteady on her feet.
Oaks advised officers she had consumed one beer. A field sobriety test was performed, which Oaks failed. She was described as swaying throughout the entire test, according to the citation.
An open alcoholic beverage container was located in the vehicle. Oaks was transported to the Jessamine County Detention Center where she provided a breath test and personally asked for a blood test. Oaks was transported to St. Joseph Jessamine where the test was conducted, before being transported back to the Jessamine County Detention Center, according to the citation.
Nicholasville man arrested for alcohol intoxication
James Kerns, 80, of 407 N. Second St. in Nicholasville, was arrested July 31 for a first and second-offense of alcohol intoxication in a public place, according to a citation issued by the Nicholasville Police Department.
Officers were dispatched to 407 N. Second St. in reference to an intoxicated person who was allegedly entering rooms of unknown people and using the restroom. Upon arrival, officers found Kerns sitting in a chair outside of the building.
Kerns was described as having slurred speech and allegedly told officers he had six “drinks” of bourbon, according to the citation.
Kerns was described as manifestly under the influence and a danger to himself and others. He was arrested and transported to the Jessamine County Detention Center, according to the citation.
Nicholasville man arrested for public intoxication
Eric A. Schwarz, 23, of 132 Baybrook Circle in Nicholasville, was arrested Aug. 3 for public intoxication excluding alcohol, according to a citation issued by the Nicholasville Police Department.
Officers were called to the area of Derby Drive in reference to a suspicious person in the park area who appeared to be under the influence of some substance and asking neighbors about charging their phone allegedly causing an annoyance. Upon arrival, officers contacted Schwarz who was initially unresponsive to commands and remained with his head on the table. Upon becoming responsive, Schwarz began to fidget continuously, according to the citation.
Schwarz was described as allegedly not having control over his own body, having slurred speech and being very lethargic.
Once it was discovered Schwarz was under the influence of an unknown substance he was arrested and transported to the Jessamine County Detention Center, according to the citation.
Lexington woman arrested on marijuana charges
Shahana Roberts, 21, of 4103 Winopeg Lane in Lexington, was arrested July 31 for leaving the scene of an accident with failure to render aid or assistance and possession of marijuana, according to a citation issued by the Jessamine County Sheriff’s Office.
Roberts left the scene of an accident and was later discovered on Tates Creek Road. Roberts allegedly smelled like alcohol and was in possession of a large bag of suspected marijuana.
Roberts was arrested and transported to the Jessamine County Sheriff’s Office, according to the citation.
Nicholasville woman arrested for DUI
Brooke Allen, 28, of 142 Heritage Drive in Nicholasville, was arrested Aug. 4 for first-offense driving on a suspended or revoked license, failure of owner to maintain required insurance and second-offense DUI, according to a citation issued by the Nicholasville Police Department.
Officers were dispatched to the area of Connemara Golf Course and US 27 in regards to a reckless driver. A witness informed officers they had seen Allen traveling south bound on the US 27 in the center median.
It was also reported once Allen turned onto Peachtree Drive she had drove onto the curb.
Allen was found slumped over the steering wheel on Peachtree Drive with the vehicle still running, according to the citation.
Allen was described as having slurred speech and glossy eyes, and allegedly told officers she had asthma and was on her way home. Allen then told officers she had taken her medication, Gabapentin, earlier in the day.
Allen was treated for her asthma by EMS prior to conducting a field sobriety test on Peachtree Drive which she failed.
Allen told officers she had taken three doses of her 600 mg Gabapentin which was equal to 1800mg, more than her prescribed amount, according to the citation. Allen then told officers it stated on her prescription she should not drive while taking the prescription.
Allen was transported to St. Joseph Jessamine where she performed a blood test before being transported to the Jessamine County Detention Center, according to the citation.
Woman arrested for criminal
trespassing
Mandy K. Souza, 38, homeless, was arrested Aug. 6 for first-degree criminal trespassing, according to a citation issued by the Jessamine County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to a call in reference to Souza on a property, and while en-route discovered she had been listed as given criminal trespassing warnings July 7, July 19 and July 21.
Souza was located on the property of a dwelling hiding behind wall paneling in the bathroom. She was arrested and transported to the Jessamine County Detention Center, according to the citation.
Woman arrested for burglary
Regena Vincent, 37, homeless, was arrested Aug. 4 for second-degree burglary, according to a citation issued by the Jessamine County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to a burglary in progress and located Vincent standing on the front steps of the residence. The home owner allegedly told officers Vincent shattered the glass door and entered the premises, according to the citation.
Deputies noticed the glass door shattered and cuts on Vincent’s hands. When asked why she was at the residence, Vincent told deputies, “I came to get my kids.”
The homeowner told deputies Vincent did not live there and was never welcome to come in.
Vincent was arrested and transported to the Jessamine County Detention Center, according to the citation.

— Paul Schember, 72, of 204 E. Linden St. in Wilmore, was arrested on two Fayette County warrants.
— David Firster, 23, of 313 Bellevue Drive in Wilmore, was arrested July 31 for third-offense DUI.
— Michelle Bruner, 32, of 108 Hillcrest Drive in Nicholasville, was arrested July 31 for failure to appear.
— Justin L. Peel, 31, of 189 Leedean Circle in Nicholasville, was arrested July 31 for theft by unlawful taking under $500.
— Jessica G. Smith, 28, of 4258 Sulphur Well Road in Nicholasville, was arrested July 31 for failure to appear.
— Erin Wells, 38, of 2340 Owen Road in Stanford, was arrested July 31 for theft by unlawful taking under $500.
— Tracy Davis, 46, of 115 Southview Drive Apt. 32 in Nicholasville, was arrested July 31 for theft by unlawful taking under $500.
— Kayla M. Savage, 30, of 309 Foxwood Drive in Nicholasville, was arrested July 31 for violation of a Kentucky emergency protection order.
— Christy M. Duh, 34, of 3104 Chelsea Drive in Lexington, was arrested Aug. 1 for non-payment of court fees.
— Debbie J. Huff, 40, of 320 Southview Drive Apt. 208 in Nicholasville, was arrested Aug. 1 for theft by unlawful taking all others above $500 but under $10,000.
— Stephanie N. Baker-Brewer, 30, of 121 Henry Court in Nicholasville, was arrested Aug. 1 for second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.
— Susan D. Taylor, 50, address unknown, was arrested Aug. 1 for theft by unlawful taking (firearm) and theft by unlawful taking under $500.
— Jacob D. O’Bryan, 28, of 312 Creekview Drive in Paris, was arrested Aug. 1 for a probation violation (felony offense).
— Tyler Berndt, 20, of 200 Holiday Drive in Nicholasville, was arrested Aug. 1 for failure to appear.
— Louis Wheeler, 36, of 181 Imperial Place Apt. 221 in Nicholasville, was arrested Aug. 1 for failure to appear.
— Barry Collett, 35, of 336 E. Oak St. in Nicholasville, was arrested Aug. 1 for a violation of a Kentucky emergency protection order.
— Trevor A. Pinkston, 26, of 311 Elkchester Circle in Nicholasville, was arrested Aug. 2 for a first-offense DUI.
— Cody Huston, 25, of 107 E. Brown St. in Nicholasville, was arrested Aug. 2 for public intoxication (excluding alcohol).
— Chad Baker, 41, of 725 N. Main St. in Nicholasville, was arrested Aug. 2 for first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and persistent felony offender.
— Dylan Cartwright, 25, of 1826 River Road in Nicholasville, was arrested Aug. 3 for fourth-degree assault.
— Cory Wilson, 24, of 201 Manoah Lane in Nicholasville, was arrested Aug. 3 for theft by unlawful taking under $500.
— Melvin Robinson, 47, of 1605 Brittany Lane in Lexington, was arrested Aug. 3 for failure to appear.
— Jocelyn Starr, 22, of 128 Shelby Way in Nicholasville, was arrested Aug. 3 for theft by unlawful taking under $500.
— Marcus F. Smith, 46, address unknown, was arrested Aug. 4 for contempt of court, giving officer false identifying information and theft of identity of another without consent.
— Henry Oxidine Jr., 57, of 800 Beauford Place Apt. 15 in Nicholasville, was arrested Aug. 4 for alcohol intoxication in a public place.
— Mark Winston Pike, 31, of 145 Oakmont Drive in Nicholasville, was arrested Aug. 4 for non-payment of court fees.
— Justin R. Pitman, 30, of 205 Chrisman Lane in Nicholasville, was arrested Aug. 4 for failure to appear.
— Eric A. Hertz, 35, address unknown, was arrested Aug. 4 for public intoxication (excluding alcohol) and third-degree possession of a controlled substance.
