It may not be hockey, but the East Jessamine Lady Jags earned their own version of a hat trick last week with three wins in as many days.
The Jags earned a huge district win over the Lady Titans of Mercer County Wednesday by a score of 7-0. The Lady Jags produced seven runs on 11 hits on the night. Karlee Terral, Allie Lane, and Haylee Stansbury each had multiple hits on the evening to lead the Lady Jags offense.
Hannah James, Kaley Naylor, Mallory McDowell, and Makayla McDowell each collected hits as well. James led East on the mound scattering three hits over seven innings, while striking out 15 and walking none.
The offense produced another solid outing Thursday when the Lady Jags collected 12 hits and scored six runs to defeat the visiting Garrard County Lady Lions 6-3.
Thanks to a clutch two-RBI double by Kaley Naylor, the Lady Jags took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the second inning and maintained the lead for the remainder of the game.
Brylee Hage and Mallory McDowell each had three hits to lead the Lady Jags, while Naylor, Hannah James, Kaitlyn Robinson, Maddie Stinnett and Karlee Terral each recorded hits on the night. Hannah James paced the Lady Jags on the mound where she struck out 14, allowed four hits, and only two earned runs.
The Lady Jags scratched out their third win in as many days with a 3-2 victory over visiting Lexington Catholic Friday.
There were only six hits combined on the night. Brylee Hage, Kaley Naylor, Hannah James, Makayla McDowell, and Karlee Terral accounted for the five East Jessamine hits. While the Lady Knights struck with their only hit with a solo shot in the seventh inning.
James steadied a short-handed Lady Jags squad allowing one hit, one earned run, and striking out nine for the complete game victory.
