Ringing for reading

Jessamine County Public Library partnered with the Jessamine County courthouse, the Jessamine Early Learning Village and County Judge Executive David West to offer a celebration on March 17th for children who have recently read their first book independently. Participants were invited to ring the courthouse bell, signaling through the community to that these children are now readers. The children were also invited to write their names in JCPL’s Book of Names and received a special certificate celebrating this important achievement. . Another celebration is scheduled to take place in the fall.
