The man whose body was found at St. Joseph Jessamine R.J. Corman Ambulatory Care Center on Tuesday has been identified as 21-year-old James Neal Dixon.
An employee of the hospital discovered Dixon’s body close to the shrubs near the road leading up to the hospital at around 3 p.m. At the time his body was discovered, Dixon was only wearing blue jeans, and lacked any form of identification, said Jessamine County Coroner Michael Hughes.
Hughes was contacted by Dixon’s mother, and based on her description of tattoos that he had and what deputies described at the scene, he did not believe it was Dixon at first. After further investigation on Wednesday morning conducted by the state medical examiner’s office in Frankfort, fingerprints confirmed that the man found was Dixon.
The medical examiner’s office was unable to determine the cause of death, and they did not find any indication of foul play.
“It may be drugs, it may be something else that happened to him,” Hughes said.
The Nicholasville Police Department is now investigating the cause of death and awaiting toxicology results, which can take up to four weeks.
