Wesley Waddle in Wilmore this weekend

Saturday morning, Asbury Theological Seminary will host a 5K and a 10K marathon where participants can get their heart pumping to support local veterans.
The third annual Wesley Waddle 10K and 5K races will take place at 8 a.m. on Saturday, April 22 at Asbury Theological Seminary located at 204 N. Lexington Avenue in Wilmore.
Last year the event brought in 300 runners, doubling the amount from the first year.
“This year, we are hoping for 400 runners,” said coordinator of the event Ashley Jenkins.“We have over 300 already.”
All donations collected from this year’s Wesley Waddle will be given to the Thomson-Hood Veterans Center. Participants will receive a Sport-Tek T-shirt and post-race bagel breakfast
The goal this year will be to raise $1,000 to support local veterans from all branches of the armed forces said coordinator of the event for the past two years, Jenkins said.
Registration for the 5K is $20 for ATS and Asbury University students, and $25 for other participants. Registration for the 10K is $25 for students and $30 for others.
Runners can register online at http://bit.ly/2ozCHAt or at the front desk of the student center at ATS until 8 p.m. on April 22. During registration, alumni can make a $1, $5, $10, $20 or custom amount donation.
Cash prizes of $250 will be awarded to the overall male and female runners for the 10K and the 5K. There will also be age category prizes and door prizes.
