—New Hope Fellowship, located on 1451 S. Main Street in Nicholasville, will host the 2017 Women’s Retreat with sister Vonda Bishop at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 21 and 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 22 For more information, call 859-806-4821. Registration will be at 6 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m. on Saturday, no charge.

—First Assembly of God, located on Wilmore Road in Nicholasville will be hosting their once a month Prayer Tent and cookout from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 22 at the City County Park. Hotdogs, chips and drinks will be served along with special prayers for anyone who is in need of prayer. Christian material will be available to help encourage everyone. —Harmony Fellowship will host “Spring Sing,” an evening of Gospel Singing at 6 p.m. on Sunday, April 30. The event will be hosted by song leader Etta Smith and the Harmony Fellows Quartet. This event features country, bluegrass, traditional and contemporary Gospel styles with Ernie Lawson, Treva and the Travellers, Trish Cairel, The McIntosh Bluegrass Band, along with special guests Ramsey Bearse and the Amen Quartet from Lexington. —Edgewood Baptist Church will host a Power Revival on April 29 and 30.

—Sulphur Well Christian Church in Nicholasville will host the country and bluegrass gospel group “The Trinity Heirs,” concert at 6 p.m. on Saturday May 6. Everyone invited. For more information, call 859-327-7698.

—First Assembly of God, as well as other churches in the community, has joined a group called “Intercessors for America.” The purpose of the group is to pray for God’s divine guidance for the leaders of federal, state, counties and cities. The “Intercessors of America will meet on the last Tuesday of each month from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on the Jessamine County Courthouse lawn beginning in April and through the warmer weather. —A prayer meeting will be hosted every Wednesday at 10:45 a.m. at Sonlight Fellowship Church of God at 216 E. Oak St. Everyone is welcome.

—Women’s Bible study will meet Thursday mornings from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the Nicholasville Salvation Army, located at 205 South 1st Street. —Saint Athanasius Orthodox Church, 100 Lime Lane, offers free bread to families and individuals in need in the Nicholasville area. Saint Athanasius distributes this bread, supplied by Panera Bread, every Sunday from 12:30 to 1:15 p.m.

—Providence Christian Church, 101 Providence Way, hosts a “Bodies in Motion” low-impact exercise class every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10 to 11 a.m.

—Walking With Love’s Laundry Love ministry is offered every third Tuesday of the month at 5 p.m. at Wildcat Laundry, 630 Edgewood Drive. Households of up to four people can do a double load of laundry for free; households of more than four people can do a triple load of laundry for free. Anyone can use the service, but each household is limited to using it once every three months. An I.D. will be requested in order to track how often households are using the service.

—Walking With Love Food Pantry at 220 Edgewood Drive is open from 12 to 2 p.m. and from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. every Wednesday.

—Free meal offered from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday at 303 W. Maple Street in the Community Center of Nicholasville United Methodist Church. The meal is a restaurant-quality hot, nutritionally balanced meal.  Take out meals are also available, one meal per person. The meal is funded by freewill donations from churches, businesses, and residents of Jessamine Co. No one is ever asked to pay for their meal. Volunteers are always welcome.
