—Providence Christian Church will host the 2016 Community Ecumenical Thanksgiving Service beginning at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 20. The church is located at 101 Providence Way in Nicholasville behind Brannon Crossing Shopping Center. Area churches will participate in this ecumenical service including: Central Baptist Church, The Episcopal Church of the Resurrection, Gethsemane Lutheran Church, Pax Christi Roman Catholic Church, St. Andrews Orthodox Church and Walnut Hill Church. All are welcome.
—Nicholasville Presbyterian Church will host a Thanksgiving service at 7 p.m. on Nov. 23.
—Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church and Mount Pleasant Baptist Church will fellowship together beginning at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 30 at 103 Cushingberry Lane on Keene Road.
—A Christmas Holiday Market will be hosted from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Dec. 3 at Mt. Freedom Baptist on 100 S Lexington Ave, Wilmore. All crafts are handmade, call 858-3811 for information.
—Nicholasville Presbyterian Church will be sponsoring a coat and sweater drive for the month of November. Donations are encouraged.
—A prayer meeting will be hosted every Wednesday at 10:45 a.m. at Sonlight Fellowship Church of God at 216 E. Oak St. Everyone is welcome.
—A women’s Bible study will meet Thursdays from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the Salvation Army on 205 South 1st St. during the fall. All women are invited. The group will be reading and studying scriptures related to the life of the disciples of Jesus. The book, “Twelve Ordinary Men” by John MacArthur, will be used as a supplement to the teaching. —Saint Athanasius Orthodox Church, 100 Lime Lane, offers free bread to families and individuals in need in the Nicholasville area. Saint Athanasius distributes this bread, supplied by Panera Bread, every Sunday from 12:30 to 1:15 p.m.
—Providence Christian Church, 101 Providence Way, hosts a “Bodies in Motion” low-impact exercise class every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10 to 11 a.m.
—Walking With Love’s Laundry Love ministry is offered every third Tuesday of the month at 5 p.m. at Wildcat Laundry, 630 Edgewood Drive. Households of up to four people can do a double-load of laundry for free; households of more than four people can do a triple-load of laundry for free. Anyone can use the service, but each household is limited to using it once every three months. An I.D. will be requested in order to track how often households are using the service.
—Walking With Love Food Pantry at 220 Edgewood Drive is open from 12 to 2 p.m. and from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. every Wednesday.
—FREE meal offered from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday at 303 W. Maple Street in the Community Center of Nicholasville United Methodist Church. The meal is a restaurant quality hot, nutritionally balanced meal. Takeout meals are also available, one meal per person. The meal is funded by freewill donations from churches, businesses and residents of Jessamine Co. No one is ever asked to pay for their meal. Volunteers are always welcome.
