The Jessamine County Fire Department raised $1,500 for the “Yes Mamm” Foundation — a program that provides mammography screening and diagnostics for the underinsured — by selling T-shirts.

Blake Digue, of the Jessamine County Fire Department, said he knew there were different departments that supported breast cancer awareness by wearing pink.

“We didn’t want to just wear pink,” Digue said. “So we partnered up with the, Yes Mamm foundation.”

The Fire Department will be selling the T-shirts that say “We don’t just fight fires,” on the back, all throughout the month of October.

“We should exceed our goal of $1,500,” Digue said. “We will take the check up to the foundation at the end of the month.” 

The shirts are still for sell and can be picked up for $15 at the Jessamine County Fire Department, on South Main Street in Nicholasville.
