Eleven students in the service project class at West Jessamine Middle School gathered 51 blankets to donate to ScatterJoy Inc. ScatterJoy will provide the blankets to the Jessamine County Homeless Coalition shelter, which is expected to open in November. An enrichment class at the school also raised $729.46 for ScatterJoy to pass on to the homeless coalition. The funds came from a dance hosted by the school and glow-in-the-dark necklaces and wristbands sold at the dance.
